Notes:
Provides transcriptions of letters sent by Colin Robertson, 1783-1842, mostly to private persons rather than Company officials in the years 1817 to 1822 but some casting back to 1809. Collected together by Robertson, perhaps for publication, as a record of events, and his role in them, leading to the 1821 merger of the Hudson's Bay Co and the North West Co. Also contains transcriptions of documents touching on the merger. Has introductory essay [ppxiii-cxxxi. Robertson had initially worked for North West Co but left in 1809 and subsequently joined Hudson's Bay Co and was involved in conflict with the North West Co in the Lake Athabasca region. Retired 1840.
