Largely comprises transcriptions of documents with a substantial introduction covering the firm's history, relations with other publishers, relations with specific writers, finance, advertising, printing, binding, etc. The transcriptions are structured in four parts, largely to reflect relationships between the parties - author, publisher, printer, etc. The parts are: 1] 'Publisher and author, 1810-30'; 2] 'Publisher and publisher, 1805-36' - Archibald Constable and William Blackwood; 3] 'Publisher and printer, 1808-10'; 4] 'Miscellany' including such areas as processes, publishing methods, profits, advertising, costs, bookselling, etc
