Notes:
Provides a transcription of an account book of Peter Temple, d1578, latterly of Burton Dassett, Warwickshire, covering the years 1541 to 1555, and giving substantial insight into his rise as a grazier / wool dealer 'from obscurity to the possession of a considerable landed estate as a paradigm of Tudor success'. The originator of the account book was not the Temple family but Thomas Heritage, c1500-41, who was an apprentice skinner in London from 1516 and subsequently in business there but came to own land at Burton Dassett. It provides some details of his wool trading activities and stock. Includes family trees of Heritage and Temple families
