Based on typescript in Dundee University Library, the original having been lost. Comprises extracts from the diary with extensive annotations. Deals with day to day management of the mill, especially its production, and was written for William Brown's personal guidance - 'to improve the author of them [ie the diary] in the knowledge of his business and to assist him in the management of it'.
